The Braintree Fountain

Did you know, Sir W.J.Coultauld commissioned John Hodge, the famous sculptor, to create the fountain and its surrounding square in memory of King George V back in 1937 and is one of Braintree’s most photographed landmarks.

The Charity has commissioned the services of a Specialist Restoration Company who recommend a full refurbishment of the inner workings of the fountain costing over £40,000. We have approached Braintree District Council to help us with the costs surrounding this, and meetings are currently ongoing about looking for sources of funding for this project.

We will continue to work hard to get this back into a working condition.

COMING SOON - We are happy to be able to soon announce the creation of a voluntary community group which will help with preservation of this beautiful feature.
